Hi,
My name is Cathy and I am an Instructional Technology Facilitator. I work with teachers throughout my district to help them integrate technology into their classrooms as well as work with schools to produce real productive technology plans…not just paper with a whole lot of educational jargon on it.
I have a wonderful husband and my children are my two dogs (seen in the header above) and I have at times been called a workaholic. Many people ask me how I got my job…what courses did I take to get the position I am presently in, etc. My response often surprises them….I tell them that I “played alot” on the computer. Still do for that matter.
After teaching for over 20 years with some coaching, club advising, yearbook advising and student council advising, my husband decided he wanted to have a wife instead of a teacher who worked long hours and brought everything home with her. Little did he know that he traded the students for a computer in my lap 24-7.
I am constantly amazed at how much technology has changed in the few years I’ve been out of the classroom. It is an exciting time! Even though I hate to write (for that matter I’m not fond of reading either…but hey I was a math major!), I am trying to create a blog that will give teachers ideas and thoughts about how to use the technology that they have in their classroom. And I hope that in a small way this blog will encourage teachers to believe that it is not hard to use technology… but rather simple in fact and the results they receive from their students will amaze them.

I enjoyed learning wordpress today. Now I have a bunch of questions about how to make Edublog work for my students. Do I add a page for each book I want them to comment upon? I think it would be to cumbersome for each student to have their own page. What is your opinion?
